Family helps 6 inmates walk out ?of prison

The total contributions during the year for the jailbirds has reached Dh1.8million, resulting in the release of 17 inmates.

In a humanitarian gesture, an Emirati family donated around Dh474,000 for the release of six inmates on the occasion of the 46th UAE National Day. With the donation of the family of the late Obeid El Helou, total contributions during the year for the jailbirds has reached Dh1.8million, resulting in the release of 17 inmates.
The Dubai Police General Command, represented by the general department of punitive and correctional institutions, received a sum of Dh473,453 from the Al Helou family. 
Brigadier General Ali Mohammed Al Shamali, director-general of punitive and correctional institutions, received the family in presence of Colonel Marwan Abdulkarim Julfar, deputy general manager and acting director of the department of administrative affairs; and Abdullah Yaqoub Al Khader. Mohammed Al Ansari handed over Brigadier Ali Al Shamali a cheque of Dh473,543, which will help six prisoners serving jail term for financial cases to walk out of the jail.
Brigadier General Ali Al Shamali praised the generous initiative, which is a tribute to the great day that gives a message of goodness and generosity. He also expressed his gratitude to the family's assistance and stressed that the family's generosity is an example to be followed in its cooperation with government institutions in serving UAE.
