Dubai residents and the UAE at large always craves rain. Rainfall has become a telltale sign of the winter season and the cold weather which everyone enjoys. Suffice to say, rain in Dubai is always a roller coaster of emotions. Here are a few emotions we all feel every single time.

Anticipation

This is the first stage of wanting to experience rain in Dubai. It's marked by questions such as "The sky is very dark, will it rain?" Residents then turn into weather forecast watchdogs waiting for the words "chance of rain". From here it can lead to either these two phases:

Disappointment

This only happens when the rain doesn't come. Just when you had your umbrella with you the sun decides to shine and it's a regular day in Dubai again.

Joy

It rained! It FINALLY rained in Dubai! Quick, grab your stole and cosy up with some coffee or hot chocolate! Don't forget to take photos so that everybody knows it is officially raining in Dubai.

Annoyance

After the rose-tinted phase, you're greeted with news of heavy traffic, trees getting uprooted, and things suddenly flying off. Also, most of your social gatherings got cancelled, so, no brunch the next day. You don't fret, however, because...

Relief

Ah, you get to stay at home, catch up on your favourite TV series and rest in bed. What better way to spend the weekend than to laze about?
