Three of the youths were UAE nationals and the other two were stateless (Bidoons). The youths were involved in a verbal clash that snowballed into a fight and the five stabbed their friend several times in the face. The injured youth was treated in Al Qasimi Hospital.
The same court sentenced the father of one of the defendants to six months in jail for trying to shield his son from the police after the crime.
