Update: Dubai Civil Defence has confirmed that the early morning fire in Fountain Views Tower, located near Dubai Mall in Downtown Dubai has been brought under control.
Dubai Civil Defence teams, along with the Dubai Police rescue teams, saved three workers who were trapped inside the building and were transferred to the teams.
Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroshi, Director of Dubai Civil Defense, said that fire brigades are still at fire scene near Dubai Mall. They are taking necessary action to control the fire which was put out earlier. Cooling operations are currently ongoing.

5.35am: A fire erupted at an under-construction building located across the Dubai Mall. The operations room of the Dubai Civil Defence received information at 5:35am.






5.45am: Fire brigades, police and ambulances reached the site at 5:45am.
Firefighting: First responders found that the fire emanated from the first floor. Firefighters managed to bring the fire - which was classified as a severe fire - under control.
7.40am: The Dubai Media Office confirms that the fire has been brought under control by authorities. They also added that no injuries have been reported.




8.04am: Roads leading to Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard have been closed. Motorists are advised of diversions. Police has cordoned off the area and authorities are undertaking cooling operations so that the fire doesn't reignite or spread to nearby areas.


8.41am: Dubai Police tweets that Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri as the commander-in-chief of Dubai Police, and Major General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Director of Dubai Civil Defense, are at the scene.
