The Consulate General of France in Dubai and the Northern Emirates recently organised a private event gathering the crème de la crème of the French community including decision makers of renowned French and local companies and VIPs to celebrate the French national day in the presence of Michel Miraillet, French Ambassador to the UAE, and Majdi Abed, General Consul of France in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The party was held to celebrate the French National Day, storming of the Bastille, in reference to July 14, 1789, also called Bastille Day, which is a symbolic date, a souvenir of the French revolution. This year the host was Abed.
The guest of honour was Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Balhaif Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Public Works.
Abed made a speech and claimed he could see how France is appreciated in the UAE. This celebration of the French National Day in Dubai is the opportunity to formally thank the UAE authorities for the hospitality given to France and French people. Abed added: "Our bilateral relations have never been that strong and our strategic talks help to deepen and strengthen relationships tied since the creation of the UAE federation."
