Fuel will cost more in the UAE from this morning. Octane 95 (Special), used by motorists, has gone up by 42 fils - from Dh1.72 to Dh2.14 per litre. The UAE Ministry of Energy had announced the increase last week. On Friday evening, gas stations on Shaikh Zayed Road, Dubai and towards Sharjah were abuzz with activity as drivers queued up to fill up their tanks before the hike came into play. The price hike is due to the UAE implementing the removal of government subsidies on fuel. reporters@khaleejtimes.com
