The monthly allowance that is being given to retired Emiratis in Sharjah will be increased, the emirate's Ruler announced on Thursday.
His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, said the raise will be granted to 1,000 people who need it the most — and it will be provided until their standard of living improves.The decision will be implemented on January 2, 2023, according to a post shared by the Sharjah Media Office.
The Sharjah Ruler added that 3,500 other retired citizens will receive the increment in due time.
This announcement applies not only to citizens who used to work in Sharjah, but also to those who had been employed in other emirates.
