The Twittersphere was filled with messages of condolences for the men who lost their lives in Yemen and "45 UAE" was trending on UAE Twitter.
Users on Twitter like @SultanAlQassemi said: "I expect UAE to declare a day of mourning. This is devastating."
Another user, popular Radio Jockey of Virgin Radio @KrisFade tweeted: "Rest in Peace to the 45 UAE nationals."
Iman Ben Chaibah, @ImanBenChaibah tweeted: "45 of our brave soldiers were killed in Yemen. This is a very sad day for the UAE and all Emiratis. We all mourn them just the same."
@AmalSweetTweet said: "RIP to the brave Emirati soldiers killed in Yemen."
@MahirVrazalic tweeted: "My condolence to UAE for loss of brave 45 soldiers. May Allah grant them heaven."
