Guard spots Dubai teenager alone, sexually harasses her on terrace

Dubai - The girl, a student, said she went to the rooftop when she was done with her workout in the gym.

A guard, who allegedly sexually harassed a teen resident on the rooftop of a building, was charged with molestation on Tuesday.

The Court of First Instance heard the 35-year-old Bangladeshi guard spotted the 16-year-old Filipino girl while she was alone in the place. He allegedly seized the opportunity to sexually harass her by touching and groping her against her will.
The girl, a student, said she went to the rooftop when she was done with her workout in the gym.

"The guard asked me what I was doing there and as I was about to leave he blocked my way".
She claimed to the prosecutor the guard groped and touched her which made her scared. She rushed to the lift as she was aware there was a camera there.

Shortly later at home, her father said he noticed a change in her behavior and he filed a complaint against the guard after she told him about what he did to her.

The girl's father, 42, said his daughter went to the rooftop in the building, where they stayed in Al Rafaa, to breathe some fresh air when the incident happened on December 9, 2016.
The accused admitted during the public prosecution investigation he extended his hand while the girl was passing by him but claimed he only touched her shoulder.
The court will issue a ruling on April 4.
