Abu Dhabi Police have just issued a clarification regarding the Al Mafraq-Al Ghuwaifat highway on Tuesday.

The announcement on their official Twitter handle reads: "Abu Dhabi Police announces that the left lane of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed highway (Al Mafraq - Al Ghwaifat) will be closed on both directions from Hameem bridge to Al Dab'iyah bridge.

"Closure will be on Wednesday, June 27 in the morning and will continue for six months."

"Radar speed limit during the construction period is 120km/h."

This comes on the heels of an earlier announcement made regarding a clarification for the speed limit along that same road.

The Abu Dhabi Police had announced in January that radars on Al Mafraq-Al Ghuwaifat highway will catch vehicles at 161 km/hour.

The new speed limit had come into effect from January 24, 2018.

Earlier the speed limit for the road was set at 140km/hr effective January 1, 2018, but it had later been increased to 160km/hr.
