He died like a man, as a martyr, says mother

Dubai - Waleed Mohammed Al Yasi was known for his politeness and was loved and respected by all for his magnanimity and helping nature.

His father taught him to be courageous and Waleed Mohammed Al Yasi acted upon it by laying down his life for his country. For all those who knew Waleed, it was not a surprise to hear about him going to the war front and laying down his life for the nation, due to his love and loyalty for the home land.
Born in 1988 in Sharjah, Waleed has left behind two children, and his wife is pregnant with their third child.
He studied in Al Shula primary school and the Al shahba high secondary school but he loved the army more than any thing else and so joined the UAE Armed Forces in the year 2003 .
Waleed was known for his politeness and was loved and respected by all for his magnanimity and helping nature. He was also a devout Muslim and would offer his prayers regularly and abide by the teachings of the Quran.
He shouldered the responsibility of his family from the age of 15 and started his career early as a car mechanic to help in bringing up his six other brothers and 4 sisters.
Waleed bought a car just before he travelled to Yemen so that his daughter would be transported to the nursery .
His mother Amna Ahmed Abdul Rahaman said that he came to her before he went to Yemen and talked to her about the new car telling her that he loves his job. She said that Waleed was extremely kind and wished to build his house in Al Rahamnia area, but he died before doing this.
"Also he called his sister and asked her about my health. He asked us to be kind to each other," his mother said.
He was very courageous and never felt afraid of anything since childhood, so that's why he felt happy when he was chosen to be sent to Yemen, she added.
"Despite the loss of my son, I am proud that he died like a man and as a martyr, as lots of people attended the funeral and came to our home to convey condolences.
I am happy that he will go to heaven and that he will be remembered by all for sacrifice for the sake of the nation."
