The Roads and Transport Authority's (RTA) Licensing Agency is offering about 150 distinguished vehicle licensing plates at its forthcoming 44th online auction.
The list of numbers on offer include plates bearing A, B, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S codes. Registration for the auction will start on Sunday, November 13, and the bidding will open at 8am on Sunday, November 20 to continue for six days.
Sultan Al Marzooqi, Director of Vehicles Licensing, RTA Licensing Agency, hailed the intense participation of public in RTA auctions, be it open or online, and the positive competition between bidders. Bringing happiness and satisfaction to RTA customers underscores the importance of staging these auctions, he noted.
Al Marzooqi highlighted the importance of online auctions, as a large segment of the community who prefer these for the liberty of selecting fancied numbers in a hassle-free environment. They also contributed to the online service offering of the Licensing Agency under an annual plan aimed at improving the quality and standard of processing public transactions.
"Participation in the auction requires registration via a number of communication channels such as logging on to RTA website (www.rta.ae), or any RTA Customer Happiness Center in Dubai to seek assistance in completing the registration process. The potential bidder is required to pay Dh5,000 as a security deposit before the start of bidding through a credit card, a cheque addressed to the RTA, or in cash. The department undertakes to refund the deposited security amounts to bidders after the end of the auction, according to the way in which each deposit was made.
