Indian patriotic songs echoed louder than ever at the Shaikh Rashid Auditorium in Dubai on Friday.
The auditorium at the Indian High School, Dubai, witnessed a medley of Indian patriotic songs and inspiring stories of Indian freedom fighters as part of the 70th Independence Day celebrations.
The special theme programme 'Maa Tujhe Salaam' was organised by the Indian Consulate for Indians living in Dubai.
Indian Consul-General in Dubai Anurag Bhushan and his wife Neeta Bhushan, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi, attended the event which exhibited a 'spirit of onenness'.
The event started with a short speech by Anurag Bhushan followed by various cultural programmes, which included a performance by Indian band 'Black.'
Manya Mulani, Grade 1 student at Indian High School, made her mother attend the event as she is fond of cultural activities and wanted to see the special performance.
Kirti Dak, a Dubai resident came with her daughter Pranati to attend the event. "I want to make my daughter understand the Indian culture and importance of Independence Day. The performances are wonderful and I am proud to be a part of this event," she said.
