The Burj Khalifa was lit up in the flag colours of the UAE in a dazzling laser show, marking the end of the Innovation Month that kicked off on February 1. Visitors at The Dubai Mall witnessed a short recap of how innovation was sown by the founding father of the UAE, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Showing snippets of the UAE leaders' efforts to strengthen the country's position as a global hub for innovation, the laser show highlighted how all the seven emirates held more than 1,000 events, workshops, activities in just one month to celebrate innovative thinking among government entities, businesses, entrepreneurs and students.
Bearing the slogan 'Innovation Starts with You', the nationwide celebration began in Abu Dhabi then moved to other emirates every week throughout the month.
From competitions and workshops to forums, exhibitions and the launch of national initiatives, each emirate had its own week packed with innovative ideas and projects. Beginning and ending with the UAE Innovation Month logo, the laser show was a way of thanking all those who contributed to the celebration. "This is just the beginning and from here on we are on our seacrh to find the next innovator, inspirer, thinker, dreamer and change-maker. Together let us move towards an innovative society," the show's closing message read.
Organised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation, the UAE Innovation Month aimed to promote the culture of innovation.
