Dubai School Inspection Bureau at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has started inspection of private schools under a unified UAE school inspection framework.
A total of 169 private schools in Dubai, following 16 different curricula and catering to 255,000 students, will be inspected in the eighth year of inspections.
This year's inspection will focus on progress made by private schools in achieving goals laid out in the UAE National Agenda 2021.
Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Chief of Dubai School Inspection Bureau, said: "Our latest initiatives reflect the keenness of KHDA to support private schools in helping them achieve the goals outlined in the national agenda. Measuring progress can be made possible only by taking part in international assessments and external comparison."
The UAE National Agenda Parametre will help schools measure and monitor their progress towards achieving their individual National Agenda targets.
It requires all private schools in Dubai to participate in international and external benchmarking assessments.
The newly adopted unified framework has been jointly developed by the Ministry for Education, Abu Dhabi Education Council, KHDA and the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.
Every year, KHDA publishes annual school inspection reports providing key insights on the quality of education in the private schools of Dubai.
"This year's inspection will witness a qualitative leap in the methodology used to measure the progress. With less than six years to the year 2021, we hope to reach the goals in Vision 2021 to coincide with the golden jubilee celebrations of the formation of UAE," said Muhairi.
