A housewife stood trial in the Court of First Instance for allegedly threatening a businesswoman of killing her son.
The 30-year-old Iranian defendant allegedly called the compatriot woman many times and harassed her with messages in which she insulted her. She has been charged with making criminal threats and insult. The complainant, a 36-year-old businesswoman, said that text messages had been sent by the accused as of May 27, 2015.
"At first, she asked about my relation with her ex-husband. When I told her there was nothing between me and him, she insulted me and called me names."
The complainant had to block the defendant's number to stop her from calling again. "I blocked her number when she threatened to kill my son. But she then called my ex and made the same threat."
Few days later, the accused called her from another number and made the same threats and verbal abuse. "I got scared when she said she would go to my son's school to hurt him and named the school. It became clear she knew some personal details about our life."
The complainant sent her son to her home country, accompanied by her father. "I filed a complaint at the police station and then I got a call from the accused threatening me again because I complained against her."
The criminal evidence includes as many as 182 incoming and outgoing text messages found on the complainant's mobile phone, in addition to 35 calls relevant to the complaint which was reported to Bur Dubai police.
