Four men accused of breaking into a warehouse and stealing jeans worth Dh338,000 have each been sentenced to one year in jail by the Dubai Court of First Instance.
The Pakistani defendants aged between 28 and 52 years will be deported after completing their jail terms.
They are also accused of infiltrating into the country and breaching a ban order.
The owner of warehouse in Ras Al Khor, a 52-year-old Indian, said he imported ready to wear clothes from India.
The owner said during the investigation that he would usually keep the merchandise there before sending them to his shop.
"At 9.45am on March 2, I arrived at the warehouse and found the locks broken, The goods were in a mess."
As many as 141 boxes containing clothes were stolen at night.
The defendants may appeal the verdict within 15 days.
