Heart Day that's marked on September 29, Khaleej Times collaborated with Thumbay Hospital to hold a Health Awareness Camp at the newspaper's premises.
Thumbay Hospital organised a wellness session followed by a health screening. For the wellness session, Dr Tamer Taha Ismail, cardiologist from Thumbay Hospital, spoke about the risk factors of heart disease and offered tips on staying heart-healthy.
Dr Uzma Wajeehuddin, specialist for type 1 and 2 diabetes, hypertension and thyroid disorders, shared insights on how to manage diabetes and maintain appropriate sugar levels.
The last session for the day was on urology and Dr Vipul Agrawal delivered a lecture titled 'urinary stones - what we should know'.
Following these informative sessions, a health screening was organised for over 100 KT staff. They got their body mass index, blood sugar levels and blood pressure checked by a team of experts.
