Kids too will be spoilt for choice with new concepts and international brands opening their doors to the UAE public for the first time.

The Dubai Mall will have 3.77 million sq ft of gross leasable space with more than 1,200 retail outlets including two anchor department stores, Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s, that will make it a one-stop destination for the fashion-minded.

High-end trends for the kiddies come in the form of new stores like Tommy Hilfiger for Kids and Tout Compte Fait. The Apparel group will open around 24 stores in the mall on Tuesday with new brands in kid’s fashion.

“The mall’s strategic location that overlooks a high-end society and the plush feel with high exquisite facades of the stores blend perfectly with our brand values.

“We are committed to delivering around 75-80 per cent of the opening sales to the mall,” said Govind Bharwani, president and director of the Apparel Group. Kekos, a renowned name in kids clothing will also open its first store in Dubai.

“When you walk into the mall you will find a difference in your shopping experience,” he added.

Every child’s fantasy world comes to life at the Hamleys toy store that will offer its world famous toys to UAE kids for the first time.

Brought to Dubai by Retail Arabia, the store promises to take visitors on a journey to Regent Street in London, where they can stroll on the street to the Hamleys fountain display.

The entire store is a giant playground for both children and adults with a decked-up car racing dome, a camel caravan, a Ferrari bike racing track, a gaming area and life-sized dolls’ houses.

“Everyone loves Hamleys; it’s the toy store kids dream about.

“Children come to the store and are able to play with those toys they’ve always wanted,” said Nabil Daud, Retail Arabia managing director and CEO.

In celebration of the opening, the first 100 customers will receive a special goodie bag and be the first to enjoy Hamleys’ famous in-store entertainment and games.

KidZania® will be a 80,000-sq-ft interactive mini-city that combines play with learning in a fun and innovative way.

Around 600 stores are opening today, including Galeries Lafayette and Bloomingdale’s, which promise to offer an unparalleled retail mix to visitors.
