Ajman is extending a 50 per cent discount on all traffic fines, and it is set to take effect from February 16.
The discount, which was announced by Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, will be applicable to fines incurred before January 31. Traffic points and impoundments shall also be cancelled.
Major-General Shaikh Sultan Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ajman Police, said the offer will run for a month. "It was rolled out in celebration of the police's recognition as a platinum leadership awardee, as well as 16 other honours the group had received," he added.
Ajman's move followed a recent string of traffic discount initiatives implemented by authorities in other emirates, with the main goal of boosting happiness among residents and encouraging motorists to settle their fines as soon as they can.
