Lush green Christmas trees decked up with fairy lights, flower-adorned wreaths have sprung up across many homes in Dubai, as residents prepare to usher in Christmas.
From lavish decorations, to ornate christmas trees, some residents go the whole nine yards when it comes to sprucing up their homes and hearts for the season of joy.
Khaleej Times put on some festive gear as it went around town to catch up with some residents who are up and ready for the festival - so what if Christmas is a couple of weeks away.
Leo Jacinto, a Filipino expat, said their family started decorating their house for Christmas right after Halloween.
The Jacintos have left no stone unturned and have gone all 'Christmassy' at their home with sparkling string lights, shining LED lights and beautiful bows welcoming visitors to a whole lot of festive cheer.
Similar is the case with Limiya Pereira, a Jebel Ali resident, who seems to have gone all the way with a ceiling-high Christmas tree. A Dubai resident for 17 years, the family got together to put up the decor right at the beginning of the advent season.
“It is a tradition for us to decorate the house as a family activity and setting up the manger," Limiya told Khaleej Times.
Several expats who are away from their homes and families during the festive season, celebrate Christmas with their 'family of friends'.
“Dubai is a home away from home for most of us living here. We definitely miss home and family during Christmas, but here, our friends have become our family and it's such a joy to celebrate Christmas with each one of them,” says Chrisann, an indian expat and resident of Mankhool.
As the weather cools down and public places light up in festive colours, Dubai is turning into a winter wonderland with Christmas markets springing up across different venues, malls dotted with decorations and Christmas trees and a festive vibe across the city.
Atlanta, a Dubai resident who says she loves the vibe across the city, around this time of the year, has created a perfect Christmas display at home with beautiful garlands and wreaths.
Like the above families, residents across the city have been busy decking up their homes with stunning tablescapes, homemade ornaments, and decorated Christmas mantel to celebrate Christmas.
Their beautiful homes are a reflection of the festive spirit that is slowly taking over the city, as Dubai prepares to have a truly holly jolly Christmas.
