A 31-year-old man was found hanging at his accommodation in Sonapur, Dubai, on Monday, a day after making a threatening call to his wife back home.

Officials at the Qusais Police Station told Khaleej Times that they were informed at around 5pm on Monday that a man was found dead at his room. "We carried out an investigation to find out the cause of death. People close to the man said he had some problems and they believed he committed suicide. The body has been taken to the forensic department and will be handed over to relatives after legal procedures," the police said.

The Filipino salesman who had his day off after his night duty on Sunday was found hanging from the ceiling fan using his necktie and leather belt.
"I don't know what went wrong. He rang up his wife on Sunday evening and said he was suffering from a severe headache and that he intended to kill himself," a friend of the deceased said.
"We are all sad. He was sometimes depressed but we advised him that things will be all right," another friend said.

"He was supposed to come for the 'graveyard duty' (as late night shifts are called among workers) on Monday night but he's already dead...." said another friend.
"He was a good basketball player, body builder and maintained a good sense of humour. His mother works in Australia," the friends said.
A relative, who lives in Dubai and is waiting to repatriate the body, said his family is in deep shock.
His Facebook account is filled with condolence messages from friends and relatives, which read, "You've kept a true good humour in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace. We will forever miss you."
