The latter had been hiring the accused illegally. The 30-year-old Bangladeshi was found guilty by the Court of First Instance. The defendant is a carpenter and was not being sponsored by the complainant, when the latter hired him as a cook.
He will be deported after serving his jail sentence. The grocery owner, a 58-year-old compatriot, said that he paid the accused Dh1,400 a month, and allowed him to stay in his flat in Naif. On July 7, he put the amount of Dh50,975 in a bedside drawer.

A sum of Dh6,000 was recovered from him, and he confessed spending the rest on buying jewellery.
