Medical Fitness Report for Visa Through e-link

People who undergo medical fitness test for obtaining residency will be no longer required to collect the report and deliver it to the residency department, since this will be done through an e-link under the Takamul project.

The Takamul project is in line with Dubai’s vision to use technology to fasten day-to-day procedures. It aims at reducing paper work and making the residency process easier, was launched at the Gitex 2009 jointly by the Dubai Health Authority and the DNRD 
on Sunday.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, officially opened the project on Sunday during his tour of Gitex. “The project is a complete overhaul in the manner in which we issue our residency permits and conduct our medical fitness test. It will make the process easier and quicker for all our customers,” said Qadhi Saeed Al Murooshid, director-general of the Dubai Health Authority.

After an applicant undergoes the medical fitness test, which is a pre-requisite for new residency visa or its renewal in Dubai, an SMS will alert him/her to proceed to the Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) to complete 
further procedures.

The launch of the new technology also means that approximately 3,500 people will not be required to visit the medical fitness centres to collect their reports on a daily basis. This also means that the earlier process of home delivery of the reports will also stop.

“We launched the pilot project three months ago and already 120,000 test reports have been sent out,” explained Maisa Al Bustani, head of the Medical Fitness Centre at the authority. She said that the system has a capacity to send out 40,000 results per month.

However, applicants can still apply for an urgent or normal fitness result.

“An urgent fitness result will be delivered to the residency department in 24 hours and the applicant will receive an alert the same day.

The normal test result will take five days,” said Al Bustani.

Major-General Mohammed Al Marri, director of the Dubai Naturalization and Residency Department, said, “By exchanging required information, we have eased the process of obtaining a residence visa for everyone in Dubai.”

Takamul, said Al Marri, “is a great initiative that highlights the cooperation between two government 
departments.

The integration will lead to an active strategic cooperation between the two government bodies and we are proud of this integration.
