Indian singer Mika Singh who was arrested for sexual harassment in UAE and later released on Thursday night is back in Abu Dhabi jail, Khaleej Times can confirm.
"He was produced in the court today evening. And he has been sent back to police custody," a diplomatic source close to the case said.
It is not clear for how many days he has been detained. He is being further questioned by the authorities.
Singh was arrested in Dubai on Thursday on charges of sexual misconduct after he allegedly sent lewd pictures to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl.
He was brought to Abu Dhabi to be produced in front of the public prosecution today.
"He is under arrest. Our team is there. We are working to secure his release,"
Indian ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri had told Khaleej Times.
The envoy had also later confirmed his release on Thursday night
"Following efforts by the embassy, he was released at 11.30pm," said the ambassador.
The controversial Bollywood singer had been on the wrong side of the law earlier also when complaints were filed against him for sexual misconduct.
According to reports, a Mumbai-based model had accused Singh of molesting her in 2016.
The same year, actress Rakhi Sawant had alleged that the singer kissed her forcibly.
