Mohammed appoints road authority CEOs

DUBAI— His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has appointed Chief Executive Officers at the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) through a decree issued yesterday in his capacity as Dubai Ruler.

The following appointments have been made under the Decree No. 13/2006: Maitha Obaid bint Odai, CEO of Roads and Traffic Establishment, Mohammed Obaid Al Mulla, CEO of Public Transport Establishment, Abdul Majeed Abdul Razak Al Khaja, CEO of the Railways Establishment, Issa Abdul Rahman Al Dousari, CEO of Marine Transport Establishment, Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Younis, CEO of Strategy and Corporate Governance, and Abdullah Ali Al Madani, CEO of Corporate Support Services.

The decree, which has come into force from May 1, 2006, will be published in the official gazette.

Shaikh Mohammed also issued Decree No. 14/2006 appointing the chairman and members of RTA’s board of directors. RTA’s CEO Matar Mohammed Ahmed Al Tayer will be Chairman of the board.

The newly appointed CEOs as per decree No.13/2006 will be members of the board. The Decree No. 14/2006 will also be effective from May 1, 2006, and will be published in the official gazette.

Under Decree No. 9/2006, Shaikh Mohammed integrated Dubai Transport Corporation (DTC) into Transport and Roads Authority from April 26, 2006.

According to the first article of Decree No. 9/2006, all DTC powers, liabilities and responsibilities have been transferred to RTA. The decree comes into effect with its issuance. It will be published in the official gazette.
