Motorists warned to be cautious as rain hits UAE

Dubai - Residents and motorists have been warned to be attentive and cautious as weather conditions may cause a drop in visibility and roads may become slippery.

Rain lashed various parts of the country on Thursday morning. The amount of clouds increased in certain areas accompanied by light to moderate showers, with a fall in temperature.
Residents and motorists have been warned to be attentive and cautious as weather conditions may cause a drop in visibility and roads may become slippery.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) in the UAE has warned that unstable weather and strong winds will continue across the country on Thursday and Friday.
Strong winds - reaching up to a speed of 55km per hour at times - prevailed in coastal areas on Wednesday, causing dusty conditions and significantly reduced the visibility. Rough seas were reported both in the Arabian Gulf and in the Sea of Oman.

For today, NCMS forecasts cloudy weather over most areas of the UAE, with a chance of some rain showers hitting some coastal areas, as well as in the northern and western parts of the country, including the islands.
According to the NCMS, strong winds will kick up dust may reduce visibility. Temperatures are expected to dip from Wednesday's high of 32 Celsius and low of 22 Celsius.
Similar weather is expected to continue through Friday.
