Municipality warns parents of 'slime' toy in Dubai

The Director of the Department of Public Health and Safety at Dubai Municipality, Engineer Rida Salman, warned parents against making the popular toy known as "slime" in their own households.
The toy can contain toxic chemicals which can have a negative impact on children's health, reported 24.ae
Three types of slime are currently in circulation - the first is made of natural materials so it's considered safe.
The second is made of baby powder, glue and water which has low toxicity, but the third type uses borax, laundry detergent, glue, water and coloring agents and can be made at home. 
Boric acid, in particular, is dangerous and can be easily absorbed through the skin as children play with it.
"Toys in the local supermarkets are safe as they are checked according to global health and safety standards," added Salman.
