Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi was announced as the guest speaker for this year's World Government Summit.

In a press conference highlighting the detailed agenda and key highlights of the upcoming summit, Modi is expected to make an appearance in the event that takes place on Feb 11-13, 2018.

The three-day annual event will also see India as the guest country.

Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, the minister of Cabinet Affairs and ?the Future in the UAE Cabinet, and chairman of the World Government Summit, said India's economic development will be a good experience to share with the rest of the world.

"India has had a big role in space, digital revolution and human resources. We want to benefit from India's experiences to be able to develop people's quality of life," Al Gergawi said.

Modi will visit with honorary guests from India and a notable list of speakers to showcase the country's emerging economic growth, highlight valuable knowledge, skills, and capabilities and elaborate on the country's unique culture.

In previous years, the summit featured South Korea, the US and Japan as guest countries.

Detailed agenda of the summit will soon be updated.
