A new highway connecting Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be opened to motorists by the end of the year.
The nearly completed 62-kilometre long Abu Dhabi - Dubai highway comprising four lanes in both directions, is an extension of the Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (MBZR) in Seih Shuaib at the Dubai border.
The work is going on and 83 per cent of the construction has finished, the Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) announced on Wednesday.
Know the route The highway starting from Seih Shuaib towards Abu Dhabi, the highway will pass through the Forest Belt, Al Maha Forest, Kizad, Khalifa City, then crossing Al Ajban Road, passing by Abu Mureikha, Zayed Military City, Al Falah area and Sweihan Interchange at Abu Dhabi-Sweihan Road, which is just behind Abu Dhabi Airport. |
