It's as easy as tap and go as you can now use your Nol card to pay for purchases of up to Dh5,000 across all Zoom stores at metro stations and petrol stations in Dubai.
The new payment mode was launched by Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) at the Gitex Technology Week, on Wednesday, after it signed a memorandum of agreement with Network International to initiate the automated payment platform.
It's a tap and go payment system and will not require any change of cards.
The maximum purse is still Dh1,000 for silver and gold cards and Dh5,000 for personalised Blue Nol cards.
"The roll-out of this solution indisputably supports Dubai's ambition to be the smartest city in the world in three years by harnessing the latest technologies and most advanced methods to realise this objective.
This initiative also incorporates excellence and innovation, which are vital factors to fully accomplish the smart city vision," said Abdulla Al Madani, CEO of RTA's Corporate Technology Support Services Sector.
Al Madani added the RTA is targeting to cover 1,000 retail stores this year and around 10,000 stores by next year. angel@khaleejtimes.com
