The parents of one of the suspended students visited the college yesterday to discuss the matter with the management and ended up with a heated argument with college officials.

“When the parents visited M. Ramachandran, the Director of the Institute, one of his staff tried to take a photograph.

The father of the student got extremely agitated and snatched and broke the camera — which triggered a heated argument,” said the sources.

Speaking to Khaleej Times Ramachandran said, “The parents entered my room literally jumping on me. Our disciplinary committee will decide within two days what action to initiate against the four suspended students.”

However, he declined to comment on his altercation with the parents of one of these students.

Interestingly, one of the suspended students claimed he has been wrongly identified and involved in this case. “I was out of the country when the alleged ragging incident took place. The college management initially suspended 12 students. But later all of them were exonerated,” he said.

But last Thursday, he claimed, “The management had called four of us into the director’s room and forced us to write an apology for our involvement in the alleged ragging incident. When we refused, they threatened that we would be expelled if we do not submit a written apology to them.”
