The UAE has reduced the petroleum prices by up to 5.5 per cent for November, with most categories of fuel now costing even less than what it used to before subsidies were withdrawn. This is the fourth adjustment in prices since July 28 this year.
The high-level committee comprising CEOs of oil marketing companies and the undersecretary of the Ministry of Energy met in the national capital to review the international benchmark price of oil in the month of October.
The committee decided to cut the per litre diesel price by two fils to Dh1.87. The prices of the three petrol categories were reduced by nine fils each. Super 98 was lowered to Dh1.81 a litre from Dh1.9; special 95 was adjusted downwards to Dh1.70 from Dh1.79; while E Plus 91 was reduced to Dh1.63 a litre, down from Dh1.72.
The prices of all categories of fuel except one have now dropped even below the subsidised levels. The retail price of diesel is now Dh1.87 a litre, against the subsidised price of Dh2.9 in July. The per litre price of Super 98 has dropped to Dh1.81, against the subsidised price of Dh1.83. The per litre cost of Octane 95 now is two fils cheaper at Dh1.7 as compared to Dh.1.72 earlier.
Only the per litre price of E Plus 91 has increased from Dh1.61 in July to Dh1.63 in November.
