Authorities in Dubai have rolled out the Pfizer vaccine against the Covid-19 virus from today.

The Dubai Health Authority's (DHA) helpline has been ringing off the hook, with Dubai residents calling up to get more details on the jab and where it will be available.

Dubai received the first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech's Covid-19 vaccines transported from Brussels late on Tuesday on an Emirates SkyCargo flight.

According to the DHA, Dubai visa holders from four categories will receive the vaccine in the first phase:

>> Senior citizens and residents aged 60 and above. People with chronic diseases and people of determination

>> Frontline health workers in public and private sectors

>> Vital sector workers

>> Member of the public who wish to get vaccinated
