A fire broke out in an apartment building in UAE on Thursday morning. According to a statement issued by the Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence, a fire broke out in an apartment in Al Rawda's Al Reem buildin, which was immediately controlled by firefighters. No injuries were reported in the fire. Civil Defence evacuated 120 residents and put them up in a temporary accommodation until the damaged houses were repaired. The statement added that the fire broke out at around 10:35am in the morning - after which ambulance and civil defence teams were dispatched to the site.
Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the causes of the fire. Affected families have been provided with accommodation until repair works are completed in the building, said Lt. Colonel Dr Salem Hamad bin Hamda, Director of Umm Al Quwain's Civil Defence.
