Coinciding with the UAE's 'Year of Giving' dedicated to promoting the spirit of voluntary and humanitarian work, the Higher Organising Committee of the Pink Caravan Ride - a pan-UAE breast cancer awareness initiative from the Friends of Cancer Patients - has urged Emirati horse riders and volunteer assistants to take part in its seventh annual event.
Themed "Seven Years for Seven Emirates," the 10-day Pink Caravan Ride will set off on March 7 with the participation of 150 male and female riders. The riders will have to meet specific participation criteria, such as a minimum age of 16 years old and sufficient equestrian experience. The committee urged prospective riders to complete their registration online as soon as possible to allow time for the necessary preliminary fitness checks.
"We urge Emirati men and women to grasp this opportunity by becoming part of this noble mission and raise people's awareness about breast cancer. In doing so, they will be contributing to protecting people from the dangers of this disease by ensuring its early detection and treatment," said Reem BinKaram, Chairperson of the committee.
Riders will be required to submit to technical and proficiency tests to ensure their fitness. Interested riders can register online at: www.pinkcaravan.ae/register/children-form.php.
