In July 2021, the woman received a mysterious message from her husband's Facebook account that said he had lost his phone
A senior police officer said the Criminal Investigation Department got wind of some Asians running prostitution rackets. Subsequent investigation led one of the suspects, an Indian, who was found running a brothel with four Asian women.
“The house was raided and we managed to arrest the suspect and the women,” the officer said.
In a separate case, a Bangladeshi national was arrested for alleged human trafficking. “The suspect was arrested while trying to sell a Filipina girl to a person for Dh8,000. Five other suspects linked to the case were also arrested.”
In the third case, an Indian national was arrested after the police were tipped off that a flat in a residential building was used as a prostitution den. After completing all necessary legal procedures, the flat was raided and a Filipina and a Sri Lankan were picked up.
The suspects are currently detained and will be referred to the Public Prosecution.
