An Emirati female cyclist, Muzna Abdulla Ali, died in a traffic accident after being hit by a car in Dubai.
She was killed while training with her team Al Wathba in preparation for the NAS tournament to be held this Ramadan.
The incident happened in Nad Al Shiba's Meydan area.
The Dubai Traffic Department told Khaleej Times that the driver who caused the accident was detained by the police. Investigations are ongoing regarding the tragic incident.
Witnesses told the traffic police that she was hit by a speeding car from behind. The driver crossed the yellow line and hit Ali.
The Al Wathba cycling team received condolences on their social media accounts and Instagram, for the family of the cyclist.
She had participated in a number of local tournaments and won.
