Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday led a procession, signalling the start of the 4th Qasr Al Hosn Festival in Abu Dhabi.
The celebration was also attended by His Highness Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, His Highness Shaikh Surour bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor and Deputy Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, His highness Shaikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Shaikh Dhiyab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HisHighness Shaikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, His Highness Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, His Highness Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Shaikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Transport Department, Sheikhs, senior officials and citizens.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed attended an interactive show that narrated the story of Abu Dhabi.
Upon their arrival, Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed were greeted with folklore songs glorifying the country and its leadership.
Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed and other Shaikhs joined the traditional Ayala dance show reflects Emirati's pride over their homeland, leaders and forefathers.
Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed toured the different sections and viewed photos of people and places in old Abu Dhabi. He also visited 'Qasr Al Hosn Exhibition' which narrates the story of Abu Dhabi and its connection with the Qasr al Hosn as the first landmark building in the island.
Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, said that Qasr Al Hosn symbolises the past and present glories of the UAE. He added that the festival's visitors will learn more about Emirati identity and the efforts being made for the restoration of Qasr al Hosn.
