RAK students invent wireless gadgets for special needs people

Ras Al Khaimah - In today's world of higher education, hard data, trending data and data analysis helps institutions make crucial decisions for thousands of students on campus.

Three Emirati students in the emirate have invented a wireless gadget to help special needs people manage their daily life affairs indoors and outdoors.
One of the them said his physically impaired grandmother was the motivation, while the other two said they wanted to ease the suffering of this important segment of the society.
Ali Mohammed Al Shamily, science teacher at the Shaml School of the RAK Education Zone, and supervisor of the students' three innovative projects, said the three young inventors are academically brilliant.
"Ahmed Juma Balhon, Nawaf Obaid Al Shamily, and Ali Rashid Mohammed Al Shehi are truly gifted students whose talent is acknowledged by all staff teachers and supervisors in the school."
The teacher added: "Ahmed Juma had also invented a special air conditioner for desert trips and camps, whereas Nawaf Obaid invented a school bag, that can be controlled by a remote control."

These two remarkable inventions have helped the duo to rank fourth in the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence and Innovation, which has been held recently.
Sixteen-year-old Nawaf Obaid Al Shamily, a Grade 11 student at the Applied Technology High School, told Khaleej Times that he invented a special device for cleaning.
"The cordless gadget helps special needs people clean their houses with no need to move and exert any effort."The set consists of a small car that can be controlled distantly with a remote control, he added. "There is also a sucking unit that collects the wastes when turned on."
Ahmed Juma Balhon,16, a Grade 11 student at the Saeed bin Jubair High School, said his multipurpose wireless device is a great asset for special need people. "It helps them irrigate trees and plants and clean the house yard at ease with no need to move from one place to another."
The device consists of a small car that can be controlled distantly with a remote control, he said.
"There are also water tank and pump connected with the main unit for cleaning and irrigation purposes."
Ali Rashid Mohammed Al Shehi, 14-year-old Grade 8 student at the Shaml High School, said he was very motivated to invent his device to ease the suffering of special needs people, mainly his grandmother.
"My gadget consists of a small car that can be controlled distantly with a remote control, and a box for carrying any items that special needs people may need to move from one place to another with no effort."
