Motorists in Abu Dhabi will continue to enjoy free parking throughout the holy month of Ramadan, authorities have announced.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi on Thursday said that free parking will be extended during Ramadan until further notice and that all its Customer's Happiness Centres will remain closed.

ITC also stated that it will continue the precautionary measures that have been undertaken to maintain the safety of the public during these challenging times.

"The public is urged to adhere to Mawaqif regulations and not to park their vehicles in prohibited areas or block the traffic flow," the ITC said in a statement.

Bus services

Starting from Saturday, April 25, 2020, bus services will resume operating from 6am to 8pm in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain City and Al Dhafra Region. This is after suspension of the services that started from Thursday April 23, 2020 for 48 hours in order to sterilise the buses and ensure the safety of bus users.

The move is part of the precautionary measures followed to prevent the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) and maintain the public safety.

The ICT said the free bus on-demand service "Abu Dhabi Healthcare Link" will operate 24 hours during the sterilising of the buses until Saturday, April 25. The service will resume working according to its usual schedule from 6pm to 8am. Abu Dhabi Healthcare Link service was recently launched by ITC in appreciation to the medical sector employees for their efforts dedicated to control the outbreak of coronavirus (Covid-19).
