Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, has issued a decision, setting up the moon-sighting committee for the Holy Month of Ramadan for the Hijri year 1436.
The committee will meet after the Maghrib prayer on the 29th of Shaaban or June 5 at the Judiciary Department in Abu Dhabi.
The committee, chaired by Al Badi, comprises of Mohammed bin Hamad Al Badi, undersecretary of the ministry; Yousof Saeed Al Abri, undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department; and a number of other senior officials.
The decision called on all Shariah courts in the country to look out for the moon and inform the committee.
