Residents named and shamed for violating UAE's anti-Covid measures

The UAE public prosecution has published the names and photos of people who violated precautionary measures put in place to stymie the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
They were also fined between Dh2,000 and Dh10,000 for the violations, which included not wearing masks, breaching curfew rules, holding gatherings and attending parties, it was announced at the virtual media briefing on Wednesday evening.

The naming and shaming is part of the country's efforts to deter citizens and residents from flouting health and safety regulations.
The names and photos of three Asians have been published for failing to wear masks while driving private vehicles and also for not adhering to the rules issued by each emirate to contain the virus.
The public prosecution also named and shamed an Emirati and two Asians on its social media account for stepping out of their homes or travelling during curfew hours. They were fined Dh3,000 each.
An Arab national was slapped with Dh10,000 fine while three other Arabs and an Asian were fined Dh5,000 each for violating the restrictions imposed on gatherings and private parties. An Emirati and an Asian were also fined Dh2,000 each for not complying with anti-Covid measures.
