A 29-year-old Pakistani salesman has been charged in the Court of First Instance for stealing Dh550,000 from his workplace.
The case dates back to July 15 when a Chinese businessman, owner of a digital products trading firm, reported to Naif police station that he was robbed of Dh 550,000.
"I went to the company around 10am. I left a suitcase, in which there were Dh550,000, near the staff desk. When I came back at 2pm, I found the suitcase was not there, and the accused had disappeared. The latter worked as a salesman at the company," the 58-year-old complainant said.
The accused, who was arrested on July 23, admitted to the theft charge in the police interrogation and during the public prosecution investigation.
