Major-General Abdulla Ali Al Ghaithi, Director of the Department of Protective Security and Emergency, has said the Dubai Police have comprehensive plans in place for the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He told Khaleej Times that the Dubai Police normally arrange security plans for events, which draw huge crowds, to ensure safety and security of people. However, he said a number of police officials would be put in place for Modi's security after determining the type and nature of the event. He added that the police will inspect the location before the prime minister's visit.
He said the Dubai Police are coordinating with the Indian authorities concerned in making the necessary arrangements for the Indian PM's visit happening after 34 years.
He that the Department of Protective Security and Emergency has formed three teams which include officers for the VIP protection unit and an emergency unit.
Both female and male police officers, who have undergone special training, will be on duty to ensure security of the VIP visitors in Dubai. The VIP security team could drive Suzuki GSX 1000cc and Yamaha FJR 1300cc and are trained to provide personal security to the VIPs.
