The President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is part of the world's most powerful people for the year of 2016 according to a list released by Forbes.
The UAE president who ranked number 39 is joined by the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud at number 16 in the eclectic list joining other political figures and businessmen who have made their mark on the world this year.
Forbes sums up some of the UAE President's achievements when they said: "...although he does control 97.8 billion barrels of proven reserves; he also runs one of the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, with reported assets of almost $800 billion."
This year's list was topped by Russian president Vladimir Putin followed by US President-elect Donald Trump. Rounding up the top three is German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
