Shaikh Mohammed accepts condolences for Shaikh Rashid's death

Dubai - Present at the mourning majlis were Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Sunday began accepting condolences on the death of his son, Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, at the Zaabeel Palace in Dubai.

Shaikh Mohammed accepted condolences from Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the Emirates Dr Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of Sharjah; Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi of Ajman; Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi of Fujairah; Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi of Ras Al Khaimah; Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla of Umm Al Quwain; Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Shaikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Deputy Chairman of the Executive Council; Shaikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman; Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah; Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah; Lt. General Shaikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Speaker of the Federal National Council; a number of Ministers, and other Shaikhs.
Shaikh Mohammed, in a telephone call, received condolences from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia.
King Salman expressed heartfelt condolences and sympathy of himself and the Saudi people over the demise of Shaikh Rashid.
He prayed to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of the deceased with mercy and bestow patience and solace on Al Maktoum family.
Shaikh Mohammed thanked the Saudi king for the fraternal and sincere condolences and prayed to Allah to protect the King and people of Saudi Arabia.
Shaikh Mohammed also received condolences from Shaikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani of Qatar, at Zaabeel Palace in Dubai. Shaikh Hamad expressed his grief for the great loss, praying to Allah Almighty to bless the soul of the deceased with mercy and bestow patience and solace on Al Maktoum family.
Shaikh Mohammed received condolences from Tammam Saeb Salam, Prime Minister of Lebanon, who presented his condolences on behalf of his government and the brotherly people of Lebanon.
Shaikh Mohammed also received condolences from the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif who arrived at Dubai to offer his condolences.
Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Culture, Youth and Community Affairs; and Shaikh Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs received the prime minister and his delegation at the Royal airport Dubai.
The Prime Minister visited the Zaabeel Palace in the evening to offer his condolences to Shaikh Mohammed.
The Arab Parliament on Sunday mourned Shaikh Rashid. Ahmed Mohammed Al Jarwan, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, in a statement offered sincere condolences to Shaikh Mohammed and Al Maktoum family. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in Paradise and grant solace and patience to the bereaved family.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, Dewa, extended his deepest condolences to Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid, Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and the Al Maktoum family on the death of Shaikh Rashid.
