His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, accompanied by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, visited the Emirates Association for the Talented, a public benefit body that aims to foster innovative skills of smart students.
Shaikh Mohammed, Shaikh Hamdan and Lt-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Police and Public Security in Dubai, and Chairman of the association, heard a presentation from Monira Safr, the association's Secretary-General, on the mission, objectives and strategy of the society. The presentation included intelligence quotient (IQ) tests for 50 secondary and high school students. Two of the 17 students who passed the test and will be sponsored by the association, briefed Shaikh Mohammed about their innovative scientific innovations.
Shaikh Mohammed admired their innovative initiatives and encouraged them to foray into rare sciences. He expressed admiration at the association's vision and objectives which focus on unlocking the talent of gifted students and create the incubator environment for building and developing their innovative skills, capacities and energies so as to harness them in the service of social and human development.
Founded in 1988, the public benefit body is planning to sponsor 150 smart and outstanding students over the next ten years. - Wam
