Members of royal families, Shaikhs, ministers, and dignitaries from across the country descended on Zaabeel Mosque to pay their last respects to Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who died of a heart attack on Saturday morning.
The dignitaries offered funeral prayers as a tribute to Shaikh Rashid, the eldest son of Shaikh Mohammed.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; and Their Highnesses, Members of the Supreme Council, Shaikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Ruler of Ajman; Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah; Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain; and Shaikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah offered the prayers with Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, ministers, Shaikhs and other senior officials.
Meanwhile, Shaikha Lubna, Minister of International Cooperation and Development; Abdul Rahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health; Dr Rashid Ahmed bin Fahd, Minister of Environment and Water; and Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State offered their deepest condolences to the entire Maktoum family on the untimely death of Shaikh Rashid.
Dr Sultan Ahmed said: "The UAE today lost a unique personality." - Wam
