The Organising Committee of the Shaikh Zayed Heritage Festival has extended the festival activities for three more weeks. The move is in response to the unprecedented success and public turnout the event has witnessed.
The festival which started on December 1 under the theme 'The UAE - A crossroads of civilisation' was expected to conclude today in Al Wathba, Abu Dhabi.
It is held under the patronage of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is named in honour of the UAE Founding Father the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, in recognition of his key role in preserving the country's proud history as a gateway to the future. The festival celebrates the UAE's cultural inheritance, showcases the rich diversity of its traditions and provides an educational platform for enlightenment.
